Ediger Elzhofberg – a vineyard full of character with red argillaceous slate and the ideal microclimate for spicy exotic Rieslings.
The Ediger Elzhofberg is one of the region’s exceptional vineyards. It’s southerly exposition and the back water at it’s basis therefore assume an important role. The air that ascends along the steep slope creates a unique microclimate. The vineyard’s soil is rich and exhibits a huge portion of wethered rock. Especially the predominant red argillaceous slate creates a remarkable soil structure.
Every year anew the wines of the Ediger Elzhofberg astound through delicate fruit flavours and their outstanding minerality. After a certain time of storage on the bottle those wines even tend to develop additional spicy and exotic fruit flavours that can give the wines an interesting new character.
